Replacements

Replacements allow you to use an external image for a form within your project.

This is especially useful when a form changes significantly between design time and runtime. This is also useful when you have a number of forms that might descend from the same base class.

How to use a replacement

Using a replacement is very simple.

  1. Make sure the clipboard contains the replacement image you want to use.
  2. In the Main Window, select the form you want to replace.
  3. Right click to display the context menu or select the drop down menu on the refresh item and select the Replace... command.
  4. A window will display that shows the current image on the clipboard, you use the image shown, select the OK button.

NOTE: If the replace command is disabled, there isn't an image on the clipboard.

Recognizing replacements

To make it easy to distinguish between replaced and non-replaced captures, a replaced capture has a yellow star painted in the top left corner of it.
