(Note these screens are from a Beta of Version 2 and a couple have changed slightly)
| Some new default configurations have been added. | |
| You can now manage your packages, assemblies and experts for each
configuration. Even if a package has never been installed in your configuration it will
still appear on this list. This way you need to only install packages in one
configuration for them to appear. Alternatively, you can add them directly into the
Delphi Configuration Package System without ever installing them into a Delphi Configuration.
View the components that are installed with the package (some components won't show - more on this closer to release). You can also filter to the list to show all possible packages, installed packages (for the current configuration) or packages that aren't currently installed. All functions work with Assemblies and Experts. Model Maker, GExperts and Castalia users can now be happy! |
|
| Sometimes during the package loading process, some packages don't play nice when loaded outside of the IDE. You can choose to ignore processing these packages in future. Unfortunately, when being processed some AV's can occur inside the package while being process. More information on this later. | |
| The Configuration Options dialog allows you to set options for your Delphi
Configuration that either aren't available in the normal Delphi GUI or provide convenience
functionality. For example, in the Folders options you can set the Default Projects
Folder. A convenience function allows you to add that folder as an item in the Place Bar
(seen on the left of the Open/Save dialogs)
You can set the option to allow your Delphi projects to prompt for the Project Name and Location like what happens when you create a new C# application. |
|
| The Places Bar dialog allows you to add a folder to the Places Bar. It also supports drag and drop reordering of items in the places bar. Note the bar is horizontal purely because a tall skinny dialog looks ordinary! | |
| Pair Table editing. This allows you to configure what Pair matching occurs in the editor. Customisable for each Source File Type in the IDE (including custom ones that you might add). It even allows you to disable the functionality if you don't like it, but when you realise it's really good - enable it again! |
The Editor Color's page allows you to Save and Load your custom color settings to a file so you don't have to set them when you need to reinstall or install on another system.
More options pages will be added throughout the Version 2 release cycle. Suggestions are welcome also.
